Technical Specifications

Conservatory Blinds are an important investment so you must make sure that they not only look good, but will provide high levels of performance helping to keep the room cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Energy Saver blinds fabric is the most thermally and solar efficient blind available and to prove this Oxford Brookes University were commissioned to conduct comparative tests.

Brookes specialise in energy saving within buildings and tests were conducted in accordance with ISO 9050.

The results proved that no other blinds controls your environment like Energy Saver.

Figures stated are from tests conducted by Oxford Brookes University to ISO 9050. Competitors figures stated may vary to their own published figures, but these tests were carried out to a standard testing method for comparative purposes.

When you compare the above figures, 3 factors are most important:

1. Transmittance:
This is the direct sunlight that causes instantaneous heat gain and even a small amount will cause great discomfort. Prevention of directly transmitted heat will provide necessary comfort factor, particularly essential in conservatory. The lower the figure - the better.

2. Shading Co-efficient:
This is a figure, between 0 and 1, that allows you to compare the efficiency of a fabric to keep the room cool. The lower the figure - the better

3. Emissivity:
This is a figure, between 0 and 1, that allows you to compare the efficiency of a fabric to keep the room warm. The lower the figure - the better.
